The CO2 that is absorbed by the ocean is changing the chemistry of the seawater. In order for it to be an acid its pH level has to be lower than 7. The ocean was a base when the pH level was at 8.17 in 1850. However due to the industrial revolution production things such as cutting down trees that breath in our carbon dioxide we breathe out, which also grows larger when the huge population shift took place in 1970. More humans means more carbon dioxide. So we can honestly only blame ourselves for the pH levels in the air and now the ocean. Scientist anticipate that the pH level will be at 7.85 in 2100. So soon it will be an Acid if we keep up what we have been doing. So I created a meme that gives you examples such as global warming, ice caps melting, and rising sea levels. So we have all of these problems and now the pH levels are lowering which means it will soon be an acid and kill off many animals and plants in the ocean. An animal that all the carbon dioxide and the pollution is effecting is the polar bear. I thought it would be perfect to chose a polar bear for my meme because they are becoming extinct because of the carbon dioxide and the global warming and just everything humans are doing to the earth.
