The american alligator, the most common species of alligator, was only removed from the endangered species list in 1987. The crocodiles and alligators may be hard to differ at first, but there are few things that you can distinguish them apart from each other. The crocodiles are vulnerable due to human development and global warming. Global warming will threaten coastal crocodile habitats. The Crocodylinae has existed alongside ancient alligators and the dinosaurs. For million of years.
